Without warrant or cause, ICE detained Colombian-American journalist Estefany Rodriguez last week during a routine traffic stop. Rodriguez has faced death threats for her reporting in Colombia; her asylum application is in process.

While it is increasingly common, this kind of lawless behavior by ICE and CBP violates international law as well as established standards for the treatment of journalists. Despite constant assaults by this administration on civil liberties, the 14th amendment of the U.S. constitution still guarantees the right of due process to all.
