Glass is perfectly recyclable. Please recycle your glass, aluminum, and steel. There are “glass” categories that can’t be recycled like Pyrex, mirrors, etc. So using those as the aggregate in concrete, sure.

Glass is heavy and breaks, recycling plants are closing/consolidating (making them further away), you can crush glass into sand to use in concrete.
So recycling doesn’t work if it’s not a service provided by the municipality.

In my area ppl break glass into big pieces and mix that with the concrete. The rats can eat through concrete but concrete with broken glass embedded stops them. Though I would only do that where rats could enter.
Some places collect and reuse certain bottles. Can we do that more?
