Technology@lemmy.world•Cars are like horses: people will soon realise EVs are just better, claims VW bossEnglish
381·1 month agoI drive an EV, and planning around driving habits is simply not a thing for me. It’s hooked up to its 230v charger and will be ready at 100% charge every morning. I drive the 50km to work and back for about 25% worth of charge. There’s a few public chargers on the way to work and almost anywhere I care to go. Range anxiety is waaay overblown in my opinion.

United States | News & Politics@midwest.social•Tech layoffs have already passed 100,000 in 2026 as the industry cuts jobs to fund AI
2·1 month agoAlways has been. But for the sake of argument let’s say it’ll work, this whole AI schtick. As a business you’re then opening yourself up to the same squeeze as SaaS does, except instead of tools being held hostage to a Silicon Valley behemoth, it’s the core of your company.
Shit deal if you ask me.
“No, but you ought to be off pudding, fatso”

“I like waffles!” “So you hate pancakes?”
No, that was obviously an analogy to point out road infrastructure is expensive compared to rail or cycling infrastructure. And there’s other modes of transport that act as force multipliers to cycling; commuters in the Netherlands can bring their bikes on trains or store them securely at stations. There’s no need to limit yourself to one mode of transport at a time.
