What do you use as reverse proxy? I have been trying to get a safe reverse proxy going via traefik in --user mode but it’s been rough 😄
Edit: checked your community, Caddy… Never got warm with that one…

I had depression since I was 14 and started to take an upper in the mornings and a downer in the evenings by age 17. I also developed chronic neck pain due to scoliosis and took Tetrazepam as muscle relaxant. Later I switched to Diazepam because the French banned Tetrazepam, and that’s where the addiction started. Got up to around 20mg of Diazepam in addition to two beers or a glass of wine in the evenings, at least 2-3 times a week.
The diabolical nature of Benzos is that they have this cumulative effect due to very high plasma half-life of about 50 hours. So if you take 20mg on Monday, you’ll still have 10mg in your blood on Wednesday. If you add another 20mg, you’ll have 15mg in your blood on Friday. Take another 20 and you are up to 17.5mg on Sunday. This can continue until you’re dead half a year later by slowly overdosing. Couple it with other GABA-ergic substances like alcohol and you have a serious multi-drug addiction within a few weeks.
The withdrawals were hell. I stopped when I started studying in 2015 and noticed a pattern of me becoming more aggressive and harsh against my wife due to my on/off relationship with addiction. One time I could juuuust stop myself from hitting her in an argument, which lead to me breaking down crying my heart out and putting a gun to my head. I had become everything I always despised, and I realised I just started because I wanted to be productive in capitalism. The cold steel against my temple made me snap out of my constant cycle of self-hatred and self-harm.
This was the same time when I became a radical leftist accelerationist. If things are bad, they have to become worse to the point the system breaks down. I confessed my addiction to my wife and she helped me overcome it, with healthy hobbies like hiking and swimming.
I started to pull myself together, switched my field of study and finally got a Bachelor’s in 2021. Now I’m completely drug-free most of the time. Had a few relapses and still have Benzos at home as they’re the only pills which help me sleep when the nerve damage and neck pain gets to me. I only take them in emergencies now and only ever keep 4 tablets at home, the others are in a bank drawer.
Nowadays I’m pretty successful job-wise, I’m 35 and in the top 10% earners in my country. I made lots of friends since 2015 and have no fear of dying alone. I work with kids and teach them programming and project management sometimes. Since 2022 I even go on a long vacation every year.
Life is good now. I feel like I have already been at my lowest point and I’ll never ever go back there again.

Not quite an asshole. Competence only looks like arrogance from below. He’s actually quite nice and friendly in person. He just has a no bullshit attitude, which is especially jarring for Americans, who always wrap their criticism in several layers of glazing.

I seriously love that guy. Sounds like a good troll.
And to top it all off, he even used it in an ethical and license compliant way. He didn’t generate code. He understood every character. He even fixed a bug instead of introducing new error prone code.
That guy is a God and I wish him a long and prosperous life 🖖

He said it’s OK to eat LLMs from one’s foot as long as they’re ethically sourced.
Please tell!
Drug addiction. Got me neuropathies. Fuck drugs. I tell all kids I mentor.

An engineer.
I became an electrical engineer 🫣

Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho?

but without the command
Yeah, but that’s an easy one to parse, if you really need it.
I’m pretty sure if you use OnCalendar it will still be there after a reboot. Let me check.
EDIT: oh damn!! It doesn’t persist on reboots. Sorry for this oversight.

You got more memory for the same price. Else we’d still pay 1000€ for 256MB sticks…

If you inspect the generated timer you see the same format in the OnCalendar line.
What do you mean by persisted? The service and timer will both be there as long as the timer doesn’t end. Which it won’t in my example.
If you want to copy it for later reference, you can simply copy the files.

windows, yes: https://learn.microsoft.com/windows/wsl/systemd
for Mac you should probably use macOS’s launchd services: https://www.launchd.info/

single line
here’s a single line for you which creates a one-shot service+timer in one go, suspending the system in 4 hours:
systemd-run --on-active=4h --unit=suspend-after-4h /usr/bin/systemctl suspend
If you want it to run repeatedly, simply replace --on-active with --on-calendar="*-*-* 04:00:00" for example.

But why does it need a cross platform package when systemd is available everywhere? What UX is better than the already existing cockpit?

Yes but it’s Free software and not run by a company

Yes but… Systemd timers are INI-defined tasks and services with unified history and logs, the alerts can be easily added with any alerting system.

Looks good, but kind of superfluous if you just use systemd timers, lol
Systemd timers are the modern way of doing it which gives you everything you coded this tool for, logs and whatnot, in the journal.
And you can run them in a web UI like cockpit aswell.
This might be interesting in a business setting but lacks ACLs and user management in general.
It’s probably also quite easy to hack the system with it if you can inject some malicious scripts.

Would be great, yes. I fear their successors as well, though.
Oddly specific 😆
