Well the busing did succeed at one thing, which is demonstrating that Adams was a shitty human with no actual values and showed that democratic governors and mayors often view migrants as a net negative even though they’re not. It was a great example of the problem with liberal politics, more obsessed with playing a game than caring for people and standing up for them. Even though they said stuff like they’re using them as pawns (true), the real response should have been thank you for sending us statistically better law abiders and hard workers. We will make sure they want to stay because them leaving yiur shithole state makes yours worse and ours better.

It’s pretty well known they were bred to be fighting dogs for blood sports. It doesn’t mean they end up that way, but intervention is needed in places other breeds do not require it.

The conversation is nuanced and long, but TLDR is that it is a breed which requires more training than other breeds. It’s also important to note that many owners’ version of training is ineffective or counter productive.

Pitbulls are highly energetic and much like great Danes, grow up physically much faster than mentally. They end up being an extremely powerful dog, chalk full of muscles, who crave constant attention and behave like a puppy. Well, puppies bite, and when a dog bites you, you tend to address it (give it attention). Compounding this, they’re also not very smart and it takes a while to train them. Compounding this further, they have instincts like all dogs where pushing is met with resistance (something Cesar talks about a lot with food etiquette around dogs), and basically everything they do is exaggerated with their enormous energy.

Comparing them to a breed like a Labrador, the obliviousness, energy, strength, and attention needs are not the same.

They can be very good dogs, but effort was made to achieve that. There are dogs who have been bred to be home bodies and they much more naturally fall into a “good dog” category. Pitbulls were bred for dog fighting and blood sports. This is not a good start for family’s first dog.

To put this into other terms. There are chickens who have been bred for cock fights. They can be good roosters, but watch your back and be ready to remove them if they attack your hens. That being said, predators beware. Different breeds have different specialties, if you want one for the look be very deliberate about what actions you are going to take to change the “natural outcome” of their behavior being the behavior you don’t want.

From what I recall there were multiple fairly popular prophecies about what a diety or sign from the heavens were supposed to look like and Jesus recreated a number of them in the form of miracles. Doesn’t really speak to his mental status, he coulda been delusional in his insistance of his diety status or he could have been a grifter, or it could all be legit or whatever.

I wouldn’t say our tests were perfect, just smearing it on cardboard, but we did test like 10 different ones. Few things were obvious, like that the coral reef destroying ingredient ones were more effective than the more eco ones, and that banana boat kinda sucked. Neutrogena was good and even their 15 spf was just about as dark as their 30. I think coppertone was worse than banana boat but I’d wanna retest before I recommend any of them though. My memory isn’t that good, I just remember relief that Neutrogena was good because it’s what I’ve been using.

If you’ve ever used a UV camera it’s pretty clear that much like lotion not absorbing after a certain point, there’s a limit to how dark your skin gets with a given sunscreen. Also that there’s a massive difference between brands and formulas. I had some photos I took with one but can’t find them. If I do later I’ll update.

I agree. Also pitting pros from one sport against pros of another sport is gonna result in the fish out of water scoring 0. Rugby and American football might be the closest in overlapping skills, but the pros are pros because they’re pros. You don’t novice your way into success just by being fit.

I think unfortunately this would open the door for bad actors too. Taking old outdated phone batteries and combining them would allow for some crazy things that could do mass harm. Doesn’t really make sense even to users. They would shrink the battery to a small fraction of its original side, market it as the world’s lightest and thinnest phone, with 4x the battery life of a normal phone. Then they’d have some other products of a bigger battery version for emergency red phones.

Beyond just companies wanting to turn a buck, there’s other more obvious limitations. The bands to communicate with the tower require physical antennas inside the phone and those frequencies are recycled over time to different protocols or sometimes different uses entirely. It would be useless as a phone before it’s dead.

Also the whole thing about energy density. Current lithium ballpark density is 250 Wh per kg. Taking a modern galaxy 5000mah (19.4wh) battery and multiplying it by your chosen ratio of 10 hours vs a hypothetical 876000 makes it 21,900,000Wh per Kg, still less dense than fusion energy, which is around 24,000,000,000Wh per kg but very close to fission energy density, which is around 24,000,000 Wh. Of the Uranium that actually fissioned during the Little Boy bomb explosion, it only amounted to about 0.8763kg, less energy than a kilogram of your hypothetical battery. I guess luckily batteries only weigh about 50 grams? The factory making them would have more bomb potential than the Beirut explosion if they had more than 47.5 kg of batteries, or enough to make 950 phones.

As an aside, I can’t believe how big the Beirut explosion was, 1GWh. Insane and horrifying.
